JAKARTA - Demonstrations against the Omnibus Law on Cipta Kerja have occurred again. This time, the workers who carried out the action came from the KSPI and KSPSI organizations.
The demonstration, which was attended by thousands of workers, was held in the area of the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta. They started the action at 11.40 WIB and will submit a lawsuit to the Constitutional Court (MK) against the Job Creation Law which is considered detrimental to workers.
Before registering the lawsuit, the demonstrators hoped to meet a representative from the Constitutional Court (MK).
They convey this request from the top of the command car and aim to make the Constitutional Court decide their lawsuit fairly.
"Today we are warning that when workers submit a formal judicial review (JR), the Constitutional Court will decide based on facts, justice and the provisions of the applicable law," said Chairman of the West Java KSPSI DPD Roy Jintu in an action that took place on Monday, November 2.
"We come to the Constitutional Court, not just submitting a petition for a lawsuit, we are warning the Constitutional Court, so that the Constitutional Court, which recently received a revision of the Law, is not shackled. The Constitutional Court is the last bastion of the constitution. It must side with the truth that lies with the workers," they added.
The reason these workers filed a lawsuit to the Constitutional Court was because they felt that the Job Creation Law was drafted secretly by the Indonesian Parliament.
In addition, this law, which was passed on Monday, October 5, is considered as evidence that the government and the DPR RI are both rushing in the process of making it.
In addition, they also demanded an executive review by issuing a Perppu for the cancellation of the Omnibus Law on Cipta Kerja and a legislative review after the DPR RI finished from its recess on November 9.
As for the current condition at the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue, Central Jakarta, at around 12.25 WIB, thousands of workers have now crowded Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat in front of the Kemenparekraf Office. Currently orations are still being made by workers from the command car.
The President of KSPI Said Iqbal was also at the venue for the demonstration.
