JAKARTA - Singer Aziz Hayat or known by his stage name Jaz sang Shalawat Asyghil which was part of a music project Shalawat Salam.

This music project is the idea of Megah Music, a sub-label of Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia. Later, several singers were asked to sing Islamic songs.

Jaz welcomed the offer as the opening act for this musical project. Not alone, he was assisted by musician Tohpati who arranged this song to make it sound serene. In addition, he also learns pronunciation continuously so that there are no mispronunciations.

“Because for me this is a prayer, so I make sure to say it correctly. And that has an impact on a more emotional experience when performing it," said Jaz.

"To make it easier, I saw a lot of cover videos about Shalawat Asyghil on YouTube as well," he explained.

Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia hopes that this project will bring good value to its fans.

“We want to present quality musical works that do not only contain entertainment and artistic aesthetics, but also bring good value to all listeners. This is in line with Megah Music, the sub-label of Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia, which always emphasizes the core culture of the Indonesian people," said Andrey Noorman as Head of Artist & Repertoire, Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia.

Shalawat Asyghil is a prayer known as Shalawat Habib Ahmad bin Umar Al-Hinduan Ba'Alawy (died 1122 Hijri).

Jaz's Shalawat Asyghil can be heard today, 19 July on all Indonesian music platforms and Megah Music's YouTube channel.
