JAKARTA - The guitarist for the rock band Cinderella LaBar has died at the age of 58. So far, no cause of death has been revealed.

According to Metal Sludge, LaBar's death was confirmed by his son, Sebastian. He wrote on social media.

"So I just got a call...Jeff LaBar, my dad, my hero, my idol, passed away today. I'm at a loss for words right now. I love you pop!" Sebastian said.

Jeff's father, Bob LaBar, also shared the tragic news. "We are informed that our son Jeff LaBar has died in Nashville," he wrote on his Facebook page.

Although Cinderella hasn't released a new studio album since Still Climbing in 1994, the band began playing sporadic shows again in 2010.

However, they have been on hiatus more often over the last few years while vocalist Tom Keifer has focused on his solo career.

Cinderella is an American glam metal band formed in 1982 in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The band emerged in the mid-1980s with a series of multi-platinum studio albums and hit singles whose music videos were hugely popular on MTV.

Throughout the late '80s, the sound that enveloped the band was dominated by heavy metal and glam metal characters. However, it shifted to a more blues-based rock sound during the early to mid-1990s.

In the same era, Cinderella's fame declined drastically due to internal problems and changes in the American music industry. After a short hiatus, Cinderella reunited in 1996 and continued to perform on stage.

The band has sold 15 million albums worldwide, according to band member Tom Keifer's official website. After participating in the "Monsters of Rock Cruise" 2014, Cinderella again became inactive.

In November 2017, Keifer stated that the band had no plans to reform in the future.
