Financial Participation And Success Of MBG Program Make BRI The Biggest BUMN

JAKARTA PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk received appreciation for its commitment to the success of the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program initiated by the government.

Not only government programs, BRI also directly contributes the largest financially to the country.

Corporate Communication Observer Fatimah Ibtisam assesses that BRI's quick steps to support free nutritious eating programs prove the status of this state company as one of the largest.

Not only is it great to provide financial benefits, BRI's role also provides benefits for community services.

"We all know that BRI's contribution to recorded Rp25.7 trillion, which is the largest dividend contribution of SOEs to the state. Contribution to services is also very large, as can be seen from BRI's support for important government programs, such as credit for the people and financing for MSMEs that provide free nutritious food," Fatimah said in a written statement, Tuesday, December 17.

BRI's positive response to SOE Minister Erick Thohir's instructions was considered a strategic step in supporting the pro-people program of the Prabowo government, which was considered concrete.

The same thing was said by economic observer Toto Pranoto. Toto assessed that BRI's steps were in line with their role as ultra micro holdings.

"This is a response that BRI should, as an ultra micro holding, to help empower micro/small entrepreneurs," said Toto.

Toto emphasized that BRI's commitment is not only limited to providing business capital, but must also touch other technical aspects, such as entrepreneurship training.

In this case, BRI can maximize the role of its subsidiary, Madani National Capital (PNM), as a partnership operator with micro and small businesses.

Following up on BRI's readiness to prepare a loan scheme for nutritional service suppliers, Toto hopes that the bank can immediately take technical steps. BRI can take the initiative to promote the registration of micro/small business partners, provided that it is determined, for access to working capital financing," he said.

According to Toto, BRI's positive response must be followed by a quick and targeted execution. "Yes, the execution is accelerated," he added.

Previously, SOE Minister Erick Thohir had appointed eight state-owned companies to collaborate on the success of the MBG program.

He specifically instructed BRI to prepare a loan scheme to ensure the supply of nutritious food raw materials through nutritional suppliers.

BRI President Director Sunarso stated BRI's full commitment to supporting the MBG program.

"An important investment is human capital, and if you want to improve human capital, first fix nutrition and food," he said.
