JAKARTA - PT Indointernet Tbk (EDGE) recorded a net profit of IDR 186.17 billion, an increase of 50.29 percent in 2022 from IDR 123.87 billion in 2021.
President Director of Indonet Karla Winata in her statement received in Jakarta, Thursday, said profit growth in 2022 came from three main pillars consisting of connectivity services with an increase of 12.39 percent, data center services an increase of 168.33 percent, and cloud services with an increase of 29.25 percent compared to 2021.
"In line with the increase in revenue, net profit in 2022 was recorded at IDR 186.17 billion, up 50.29 percent from IDR 123.87 billion in 2021," Karla said quoting Antara.
In 2022, said Karla, the digital infrastructure service issuer will begin the construction of a data center service called "EDGE2" in the third quarter of 2022 and launch the "EPIX & CROSSLINK" product which will start operating in the fourth quarter of 2022.
Karla also said the company's connectivity services and data centers showed significant growth.
As of December 31, 2022, connectivity services have successfully served more than 4,500 individual customers and more than 2,800 corporate customers, consisting of various segments such as the financial industry, technology-based financial companies (fintech), electronic trading platforms (e-commerce) and other industries.
According to Karla, Indonet has also made an innovation update to the "EDGE1" data center facility which has now used a renewable energy solution and has received a Renewable Energy Certificate.
This made EDGE1 the first data center in Jakarta to take advantage of the sustainable energy initiative from PT PLN (Persero).
"The 'EDGE1' facility using green energy can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, thereby reducing the impact on the environment," he said.
In addition, said Karla, another newly launched data center in 2022, namely "EDGE2" will use renewable energy solutions and combine environmentally friendly design principles to reduce carbon footprint.
Indonet, said Karla, sees that the data center industry in Indonesia will experience higher growth in the coming years.

To seize market opportunities, said Karla, the company will focus on four business segments, including the development of data centers through its subsidiaries.
