Prevent Social Social Corruption, Social Minister Risma Collaborates With BI, OJK To Fintech
JAKARTA - Social Minister Tri Rismaharini said that he would cooperate with Bank Indonesia, the Financial Services Authority and technology-based financial companies (fintech) to create applications related to the distribution of social assistance, in order to prevent corruption and other irregularities.
“Maybe friends ask how the case was yesterday, we will fix it. We have prepared the software, we are assisted by BI and OJK supervision, and young friends in fintech, e-commerce (online commerce) to use the application. So, shopping can be done anywhere, not just at e-waroeng," said Risma at a press conference from the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Monday.
Risma said the collaboration in launching the application was one of many efforts to prevent social assistance corruption from happening. The launch of the application is planned to be held on August 17, 2021.
"We are ready. Hopefully we can launch on August 17th,” he said. He explained that the technology in the application would be flexible and adapt to the conditions of the recipients of the social assistance. The application can also be synchronized with various platforms so that it will be easy to use.
“So later shopping can be done anywhere, not only in e-warung, but can be anywhere using this feature. What about conditions elsewhere? We will adjust it later, because we have a way to condition it later, even though the cellphone is still zadul (in the past)," he said.
The application will also prevent misuse of social assistance by recipients, for example using social assistance to buy cigarettes or liquor.
"We will cut it, so according to the President's order there is no shopping for cigarettes, no spending on alcohol. So with this feature, we can limit shopping, because we can't shop, if the payment is used to buy alcohol or cigarettes," he said.
