Paper Company Owned By Conglomerate Eka Tjipta Widjaja Distributes 85.8 Tons Of Oxygen To West Java

JAKARTA - PT Asia Pulp And Paper (APP) Sinar Mas through its business pillar PT OKI Pulp And Paper in South Sumatra distributes 85.8 tons of oxygen to West Java.

The Governor of South Sumatra Herman Deru released the departure of the tank car unit at Boom Baru Port, Palembang, Sunday, July 25.

"West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil specifically asked for this oxygen to be distributed immediately, because there is a lack of oxygen to treat COVID-19 patients," said Herman Deru, quoted from Antara.

The tens of tons of liquid oxygen were distributed to meet the availability of medical oxygen in all hospitals or places to treat COVID-19 patients in West Java Province.

Meanwhile, the oxygen stock for COVID-19 patients in South Sumatra is currently quite sufficient.

"Every hospital in South Sumatra has been supplied by APP Sinar Mas as well," he added.

Meanwhile, APP Sinar Mas Managing Director Saleh Husin said the shipment to West Java used four ISO tanks with a net gross volume of around 85.8 tons of liquid oxygen.

This oxygen is produced by Sinar Mas' business pillar company, PT OKI Pulp and Paper, which operates in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra.

"This is purely a CSR program to assist the government in handling COVID-19, not only in West Java, there are several other provinces such as Riau, Jambi and areas on the island of Java, and especially South Sumatra," he said.

He ensured that APP Sinar Mas would always help procure liquid oxygen and oxygen gas on a stimulant basis to every region. This can be done because the company has more than enough inventory.

"The company has its own oxygen production to meet our production needs," he said.
