Anthony Ginting And Jojo Asked To Control Self -Stress In The Tokyo Olympics
JAKARTA - The 2004 Athens Olympics bronze medalist, Sony Dwi Kuncoro views that Indonesia's men's singles badminton has a chance to win a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
However, Sony asked the badminton athletes to control the pressure within themselves. This is addressed to Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Jonathan Christie (Jojo).
Sony sees that badminton in big events is generally afraid of losing, but on the other hand really wants to win. This is natural, but both factors must be examined logically.
"Don't do it the other way around, because you want to win, but during a high-pressure match, you're afraid to lose and lose your mood to show the best game," Sony said in a statement, Saturday, July 24.
Ginting is scheduled to compete at Musashino Forest Sport Plaza on Sunday, July 25. Ginting is in Group J against Gergely Krausz of Hungary.
To Ginting, Sony sees the opponent to be faced as relatively easy. Even though he has to be vigilant, according to Sony, at least Anthony can boost his mentality, how to deal with conditions when he is depressed.
In terms of gameplay, Ginting relies on speed and power so he likes to attack. No doubt, the 2018 China Open champion must think about his condition, related to stamina and endurance.
“The way of playing must be regulated. Don't be fooled by your opponent's game. Try to make variations in certain points in order to overcome the pressure of the opponent and the pressure within yourself, “said Sony.
Meanwhile, to Joko, Sony believes he has the capital to move forward. Because, Jojo had beaten each other with the world's high-level players.
"Only, if you want to observe, since it was held in 1992, the Olympic champions are the average players who have won a lot of big events. Among others, Taufik Hidayat, Lin Dan, and Chen Long," he added.
