Fika Gains Experience As Capital To Appear In The 50m Air Rifle
JAKARTA - Indonesian shooter Vidya Rafika Rahmatan Toyyiba took valuable experience from her performance in the women's 10m air rifle at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This capital can be a positive provision for this 20-year-old girl to appear in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions on 31 July.
Appearing at the Asaka Shooting Range, Fika's move, as she is known, had to stop in the women's 10 meter air rifle qualifying round after recording a total score of 622 out of 6 series, Saturday, July 24. This record places Fika at number 35.
“The appearance in the qualifiers has been running smoothly. But, this is the first Olympics and I have to learn and have to gain experience. Playing in the Olympics is like starting everything from scratch, especially since this is the first number I have played in the Olympics," said Fika in a statement.
Separately, coach Ebrahim Inanloy (Iran) explained that the rivalry in the 50m rifle 3 positions also remains competitive. It's just that, he has the confidence that his trainer will be able to become a future star.
That's why, he plans to prepare Fika to be able to appear in big events such as the Asian Games and the World Cup. With a lot of experience, Fika can be more mature.
“For a big event like the Olympics, the pressure is really high. Fika faces competitors who are rich in experience and some are world champions. In addition to technical, he needs mental strength. In shooting, the psychological factor is very big and 80 percent depends on the athlete," said Inanloy.
Meanwhile, the Secretary General of PB Perbakin, Firtian Judiswandinata, assessed that there were many evaluations of Fika's appearance. Among them, mental, concentration, foresight and quick decisions. Even so, Fitrian assessed, Fika's talent can be honed because potentially this 20-year-old athlete is the first Indonesian shooter to pass the Olympics through the qualification route.
"Fika has great potential to achieve achievements at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Therefore, we have to increase the flying hours in the future to be able to achieve more at the 2024 Paris Olympics," he explained.
