PKS: Target Of Emergency PPKM Aground Achievable
JAKARTA - Head of PKS DPP Mardani Ali Sera said the government's decision to extend Emergency PPKM until July 25 and change the term to PPKM Level 3-4 left a 'big hole'. This is because various indicators have failed to reach the target.
Mardani assessed that many of the targets that had not been achieved in the Emergency PPKM, such as the target of reducing mobility by 30 percent, were only achieved at 20 percent. Then tracing from 15 people per one positive case or 300 thousand targeted contacts.
"So far, only 250 thousand contacts have been able to trace. Likewise, the positivity rate target, which is targeted to be below 10 percent, is currently only reaching 30 percent," said Mardani, Friday, July 23.
In fact, he said, the government was constantly reminded that testing, tracing and treatment are the main keys to controlling the pandemic. "No matter how much capacity/HR that is poured into overcoming the pandemic, it will lose speed with the speed of this virus. It is non-negotiable, the source of transmission must be found immediately so that the chain of infection can be broken by tracing and treatment," he explained. Mardani said, the government's efforts also failed. because there are still many hospitals that close the emergency room because they are unable to accommodate patients. The number of health workers is also decreasing due to being infected with COVID-19. "Not even a few have died. With aggressive testing, the government can reduce the burden on health facilities that are starting to collapse," he said.
In addition, there is a problem of interaction between officers and the community. According to Mardani, cases of violence that occurred during the enforcement of Emergency PPKM should be a lesson for the government. "In the extension period, don't let it happen again. The community has felt the impact, this must be an expensive lesson for the ministers, especially the Minister of Home Affairs," he said. Mardani said the Ministry of Home Affairs under the command of Titi Karnavian was late in giving directions. This is because they have just made a circular for Satpol PP, even though at that time the Emergency PPKM period was about to end. "This means that there are no umbrellas available before it rains. The granting of authority/opportunity for Satpol PP to be involved in the enforcement of PPKM should have been predicted and don't blame the subordinates, the wrong leader. Everything needs preparation and good management," he explained. The Java-Bali Emergency, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, is a bridge for many actors of interest during the COVID-19 condition. Of course, he said, there are difficulties in mediating policies that are acceptable to all parties.
"But one thing that must always be remembered, great power will be accompanied by great responsibility and the public is allowed to 'rebuke' if the government escapes its responsibilities," said Mardani.
