Sales Of People In Cianjur Increase, Most Women 15-17 Years Old, Turned Into Prostitutes And LC
CIANJUR - The Integrated Service Center for the Protection of Women and Children (P2TP2A) Cianjur, West Java noted that during the last 6 months cases of human trafficking have increased.
In 2020 there were 6 cases, while this year it has increased to 12. Most of the victims are minors and are sold to nightclubs.
The daily chairman of P2TP2A Cianjur Lidya Indayani Umar said the increase in cases occurred due to the lack of family economy during the pandemic. Many parents allow their children to work outside of supervision.
"During the pandemic, parents who lack human resources allow their daughters to help the family economy, but they don't know where their children work, even though their average age is still under the age of 15 to 17 years," explained Lidya in Cianjur. reported by Antara, Thursday, July 22.
Those who become victims are usually lured in by a large salary and work in informal fields such as employees in shops, restaurants and several other places. This persuasion apparently succeeded in attracting the victim's interest.
However, continued Lidya, after they were caught, the perpetrator, who is a syndicate selling people, sent the victim outside the island. As currently handled by his party, several teenagers from Cianjur were made sex workers and ladies companions (LC) in NTT and NTB.
"Trafficking victims from Cianjur who were employed in NTT as song guides, we immediately returned them. Meanwhile, dozens of other victims in NTB are still in the process of being repatriated, after we coordinated with various parties," he also said.
During the pandemic, it was difficult for his party to intensify socialization related to human trafficking to various groups directly. Even if through social media it does not reach remote areas, especially the southern region.
Lidya asked parents to seriously monitor their daughter's activities when they were outside the house.
