Archery The Beginning Of Indonesia's Struggle At The Tokyo Olympics
JAKARTA - The archery team will start Indonesia's steps at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics on Friday, July 23, at Yumenoshima Field.
In the morning session, Diananda Choirunisa will compete with 63 other athletes to determine the ranking in the women's individual number. While in the afternoon, it was Riau's turn to Ega Salsabila, Arif Dwi Pangestu, and Bagas Prastyadi in the men's section.
Since arriving in Tokyo on Sunday, July 18, Diananda has undergone four training sessions. He admitted that he was getting to know the wind conditions from the field and was ready to compete.
Likewise, his coach, Lilies Handayani, said that now it is only a matter of how her foster children can control themselves.
"He's ready. If Diananda is confident and controls the wind, I think she can perform well," said Lilies in a written statement received by VOI, Thursday, July 22.
Meanwhile, the Chef de Mission of the Indonesian team, Rosan P. Roeslani, who saw the archery team practicing, said that the four Indonesian athletes were in good condition.
“Today I saw Diananda practicing and Alhamdulillah I saw that they were comfortable because they had enough rest, they ate well and felt relaxed, that's the most important thing. Tomorrow they start competing for the qualifiers. Let's pray for the best so that the results can be optimal and become a source of pride for all of us," said Rosan.
