Aceh Governor Extends Micro PPKM Until July 25

JAKARTA - The Governor of Aceh, Nova Iriansyah, issued the Governor's Instruction (Ingub) Aceh Number 14/INSTR/2021/ on the extension of the implementation of micro-based Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) and optimizing the COVID-19 Handling Command Post at the village level, to control the spread of COVID-19.

"The governor's instruction was issued following up on the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 23 of 2021 regarding Micro PPKM and Optimizing the COVID-19 Handling Post at the Village Level," said Head of the Public Relations and Protocol Bureau of the Aceh Secretariat, Muhammad Iswanto in Banda Aceh, reported by Antara, Thursday, 22 July.

He explained that the Ingub was addressed to the Regents and Mayors as well as the Heads of the Aceh Apparatus Work Unit (SKPA) which contained provisions to be applied in their respective regions.

He said the Ingub issued in Banda Aceh will be valid until July 25. Previously, the Micro PPKM had been implemented in Aceh from May 20, 2021 to May 31, 2021. Then it was extended on June 1, 2021 to June 14, 2021. Then it was extended again on June 15 2021 to 28 June 2021.

Then it was extended again starting from June 22, 2019 to July 5, 2021. The Micro PPKM was again extended following the instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs until July 21 today.

"With the issuance of this new Ingub, automatically the previously issued Ingub will no longer be valid," said Iswanto.

He said the Regent/Mayor was to regulate the Micro PPKM up to the Gampong (village) level which has the potential to cause COVID-19 transmission, taking into account the zoning criteria for controlling the area to the village level.
