Sri Mulyani Opens: Shopping For COVID-19 Vaccines Reaches Rp. 10.6 Trillion, 53 Million Doses In Full

JAKARTA - The government through the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani said that the expenditure for the procurement of the COVID-19 vaccine until July 19, 2021 had reached Rp. 10.6 trillion. This amount is used to pay for about 53.9 million doses of vaccine doses.

"This step is an effort to accelerate vaccination to 2 million doses per day in August 2021," he said during a virtual press conference on our State Budget, Wednesday, July 21.

The Minister of Finance added, based on data held by the Directorate of Customs and Excise, there are currently a total of 143.6 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine that have been imported and are now under the control of the government.

Of these 3 million doses of which are Sinovac vaccine in finished form, 115.5 million doses of Sinovac vaccine in bulk form.

Then, there are 6.25 million doses of Sinopharm vaccine in finished form, 14.9 million doses of AstraZeneca in finished form, and 4 million doses of Moderna vaccine in finished form.

"Total vaccinations have reached 58.79 million, consisting of 42.34 million for the first dose and 16.45 million for the second dose," he said.

Meanwhile, the supply of vaccines that have been released is 78 million doses with distribution figures reaching 73.68 million doses.

Furthermore, the former boss of the IMF and World Bank explained that the government would optimize the role of the TNI and Polri to accelerate the vaccination program in the community so that the target of 2 million doses per day is achieved.

"We are accelerating COVID-19 vaccination by increasing vaccine service posts by collaborating with the TNI and Polri, as well as community organizations, as well as the active role of the business world," closed Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.
