TWK Backdate Memorandum Of Understanding, Save KPK Advocacy Team Alleged Efforts To Obstruct Corruption Case Investigations
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK) Save Advocacy Team said there was an alleged attempt to block the investigation or obstruction of justice carried out by the KPK leadership.
This allegation arose after the Ombudsman mentioned that there was a change in the date or back date of the memorandum of understanding for the procurement of goods and services through self-management and self-management contracts. This memorandum was signed by the KPK and the State Civil Service Agency (BKN) for the implementation of the National Insight Test Assessment (TWK).
"The falsification of information and the date of the letter or back date shows that the KPK leadership was intentional to achieve certain goals," said ICW researcher and member of the KPK Save Advocacy Team Kurnia Ramadhana in a written statement quoted on Thursday, July 22.
He said this unlawful act allegedly targeted investigators and seven heads of the KPK Task Force (Kasatgas) who are handling major corruption cases.
"So this action clearly hinders the investigation carried out by the KPK, for example the social assistance case, bribery for the export of lobster seeds, and the tax scandal," said Kurnia.
The KPK Save Advocacy Team, he continued, had reported Firli Bahuri to the KPK Supervisory Board and the police. Kurnia said, all the findings of the Indonesian Ombudsman should be evidence that the report can be followed up.
Furthermore, based on the findings of the Indonesian Ombudsman, the advocacy team urged the KPK to immediately cancel all decisions related to TWK. In addition, Kurnia said, her party urged the anti-corruption commission to reactivate 75 employees who were declared ineligible and deactivated.
The next urging, President Joko Widodo, was to stop KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri and other leaders and then appoint an executor.
"(The aim is, red) so that indications of obstruction of justice Firli Bahuri et al can be processed immediately," he concluded.
