14 Health Workers At RSMM Timika Infected With COVID-19, Health Services Continue To Run Normal

PAPUA - A total of 14 health workers (nakes) on duty at the Community Partner Hospital (RSMM) Timika contracted COVID-19. They must undergo self-isolation.

The Director of RSMM Timika, Dr. Joni Ribo Tandisau, said that in total there were around 30 RSMM staff who were infected with COVID-19. Even so, health services for sick residents continue to run normally.

"Everything is still running normally. We hope that the number of COVID-19 patients being treated at the RSMM will not increase," said Joni in Timika, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, July 21.

As of Tuesday, July 20 yesterday, the number of COVID-19 patients being treated at RSMM Timika was 24 people. A total of 14 of them are in moderate to severe condition.

The increasing number of COVID-19 patients being treated at RSMM Timika in the last three weeks resulted in only six available beds in the isolation room.

Meanwhile, during the July period, four patients died at RSMM Timika due to exposure to COVID-19.

According to data from the Mimika Health Office, as of July 20, 2021, the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases in Mimika has reached 7,836 cases with the addition of seven new cases.

Currently, there are 787 patients isolated and hospitalized, namely 67 people being hospitalized and 664 people undergoing self-isolation and centralized isolation.

The total number of recovered patients in Mimika is now recorded at 6,959 people, 23 people have been declared cured, two COVID-19 patients have died. The total number of patients who died due to exposure to COVID-19 in Mimika is now recorded at 90 people.

Currently, the hospital bed occupancy rate for COVID-19 patients, namely Mimika Hospital is 80 percent, Mitra Masyarakat Hospital (RSMM) 62.07 percent, Kuala Kencana Clinic 50 percent and Tembagapura Hospital 12.50 percent.
