State Defense Training For KPK Employees Who Did Not Pass TWK Continues After Ombudsman Findings, Observer: Should Be Postponed

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has released 18 of its employees who were declared not to have passed the National Insight Test Assessment (TWK) to participate in the National Defense and National Insight Training and Education activities.

In response to this, legal expert Abdul Fickar Hadjar assessed that the implementation of the training in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan) should be postponed. Moreover, based on the findings of the Indonesian Ombudsman, TWK is administratively flawed in its implementation.

"Referring to the flawed agreement, it should have been postponed," said Fickar when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, July 21.

However, if the delay cannot be done then the program can continue. "As long as it remains in accordance with the rules and agreements between the parties," he said.

There was also the departure of 18 of the 24 KPK employees who were included in the category that could still be saved even though they did not pass the TWK, which was carried out this afternoon. Before being dispatched to attend the training, the dozens of employees first carried out the Departure Appointment for Participants in the National Defense and National Insight Training Education.

This activity was attended by the Chairman of the KPK Firli Bahuri. On that occasion, he had time to express his appreciation for his employees who took part in the National Defense and National Insight Training and Education.

He said the employees who participated in the training were those who did not give up and retreated in eradicating corruption.

"This shows the enthusiasm and determination of KPK employees to never give up and back down and maintain a determination to eradicate corruption," said Firli as quoted from his written statement.

Firli ensured that his employees would still be independent even though they had status as State Civil Apparatus (ASN).

As ASN, their employees also have three important roles, namely implementing public policies, public servants, and sticking together for the unity and integrity of the nation.

For information, the opening ceremony of National Defense and National Insight Education and Training will be held on Thursday, July 23 at the Indonesian Defense University, Sentul, Bogor. This event will be attended by KPK leaders and invited guests from the State Civil Apparatus Committee (KASN), State Administration Institutions (LAN), the PANRB Ministry, and the State Civil Service Agency (BKN).

This training will be held from July 22 to August 30. Of the 18 employees who participated in this training, 16 people will follow it in person while 2 employees who are still undergoing independent isolation due to exposure to COVID-19 will follow it online.

The training materials include basic, core, and supporting studies. Basic studies include national insight (4 Basic State Consensus); Sishankamrata; state-defense-minded leadership; prevention and control of terrorism and radicalism; and social conflict.

While the core studies consist of developing the values and basic skills of defending the country. While supporting studies include the implementation of the opening and closing ceremonies, local content (KPK), as well as guidance and care.

During education, medical facilities and referral hospitals have been provided to prevent the spread of COVID-19. All participants, facilitators, and committees will be subjected to a swab test or antigen-based swab test every day and are required to maintain health protocols.
