National Police Chief Orders Staff To Accelerate Social Assistance Distribution
JAKARTA - National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, ordered his staff to accelerate the distribution of social assistance from the government.
The central government increased the social protection budget by IDR 55.21 trillion for social assistance for handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The TNI-Police together with other stakeholders are to accelerate the distribution of social assistance to communities affected by COVID-19", General Sigit said while holding a video teleconference with the ranks at the National Police Headquarters, Wednesday, July 21.
The distribution of social assistance is not only to people in areas that apply PPKM (Restrictions on Community Activities) level 4. All levels of society affected by the COVID-19 pandemic will be distributed social assistance.
Before the distribution process, the TNI-Police had already done the mapping. Thus, the distribution of social assistance is right on target.
"As we have done so far, assistance from the Government distributed through the TNI-Police will ensure that it is right on target to the people in Indonesia. We have instructed our staff to do the mapping", said General Sigit.
