The Second Group Of The Indonesian Olympic Team Arrives In Tokyo This Morning
JAKARTA - The second group of the Indonesian contingent for the Tokyo Olympics on Tuesday, July 20 evening departed for Japan following the first group which had arrived earlier last July 18.
Launching Antara, Wednesday, the two sports that just departed last night were one athlete and one coach from the weightlifting and rowing team. Lifter Deni who was supposed to depart with a large group on Saturday, July 17th, had to be postponed due to his lack of fitness. After going through three consecutive days of testing, Deni was confirmed safe to go to Tokyo.
Secretary-General of KOI Ferry J. Kono said the group that left last night amounted to 22 people. In addition to one weightlifter and two rowing athletes, there are also three medical personnel, three KOI internal media, three supervisors, three coaches, two sports science experts, two support teams of three people from the national media.
This group departed using a commercial aircraft JAL 726 which is scheduled to land at Narita Airport at 07.25 local time.
