Middle And High School Students In Tangerang Vaccine Injected: Hopefully They Can Enter School Soon

JAKARTA - Junior high school and high school students aged 12 to 17 years in Tangerang Regency, Banten Province, began to undergo COVID-19 vaccination.

A total of 160 students in the Tangerang Regency area received an injection of the COVID-19 vaccine in the vaccination service at SMPN 2 Tigaraksa, including Sifa Rizki.

"I know from the class group, there was an announcement to participate in the vaccine at school and I immediately registered," said the junior high school student (SMP) as quoted by Antara, Monday.

"Hopefully, after being vaccinated, we can go to school soon. Because now it's been (almost) two years without face-to-face schooling," he added.

Tangerang Regent Ahmed Zaki Iskandar monitors the implementation of the vaccination program for junior high and high school (SMA) students.

According to him, the implementation of student vaccination is going well and the flow of services is in accordance with standards.

"We are targeting 100 thousand doses of vaccination for ages 12 to 17 years and over in Tangerang Regency," he said.

"Now for this student vaccination target as many as 214,000 people, both junior and senior high school," he added.

He stated that during this time the implementation of vaccination services was sometimes constrained by the limited availability of vaccine stocks.

The regent hopes that the Banten Provincial Health Office and the Ministry of Health will immediately send more vaccine supplies.
