JAKARTA - The COVID-19 task force has disbanded a wedding ceremony held in Kedung Bokor Village, RT 001/008, Pantai Mekar Village, Muaragembong District, Bekasi Regency, West Java, Sunday, July 18.
"Together with Koramil 03 Branch Bungin and Satpol PP, we are taking action by disbanding activities that violate the provisions of this emergency PPKM," said Muaragembong Sector Police Chief Iptu Taufik Hidayat as reported by Antara, Sunday, July 18.
Taufik explained that the disbandment of the wedding was started from information received by officers from the community regarding the presence of residents who were desperate to hold a wedding reception.
Officers who received the information then went to the location and found that there was activity that was reported. The event was attended by more than 30 invited guests and without implementing health protocols.
"We immediately asked for the wedding reception to be stopped because according to the emergency PPKM regulations, no celebration or reception is allowed," he said.
His party has provided socialization to residents regarding the provisions of the emergency PPKM through the local Bhabinkamtibmas. Residents are given warnings not to violate these provisions, including holding a wedding reception.
"Actually, there has been a previous warning not to hold a wedding party. If it's just a contract and attended by no more than 30 people, please, but this is a reception," he said.
Taufik asked the public to understand the emergency PPKM rules, especially at this time in Bekasi Regency there is a spike in active COVID-19 cases. This dissolution activity is carried out as an effort to implement these provisions.
