COVID-19 Update As Of July 18: New Cases Of 44,721, Healed 29,264

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. The cumulative total of cases stands at 2,877,476 since the first cases were announced on March 2. Meanwhile, new cases per day reached 44,721 people.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases increased by 29,264 today, bringing the total to 2,261,658 recovered. Meanwhile, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 1,093 people and a total of 73,582 people.

Meanwhile, the province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 9,128 new cases and a total of 746,312 cases. DKI is the province with the most COVID-19 cases in Indonesia. Followed by the province of West Java 7,777 cases and the total cumulative cases reached 516,591.

Then, East Java had 5,726 new cases, with a total of 239,168 cases. Central Java 4,699 cases and a total of 516,591 cases. Banten 3,139 cases and a total of 87,718 cases.

It was also reported that there were 4 provinces that reported the addition of new cases under 100, namely Aceh 63 cases, Maluku 69, North Maluku 84, and West Sulawesi 90.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 11,857 recovered cases. West Java followed with an increase of 3,895 cases. Then, followed by Central Java 3,420 cases recovered, and East Java 3,052 cases.

"The highest death cases were in East Java with 328 people, followed by Central Java with 179, DKI Jakarta with 158, and West Java with 91," as quoted from Ministry of Health data, Sunday, July 18.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined per day is 192,918. Meanwhile, cumulatively it reached 23,122,041. As for the details, 18,540,314 were examined by RT-PCR, antigens were 4,581,727 people, while the examination data through TCM was under maintenance.

"For the number of people suspected of being infected with COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it is recorded at 253,785 people," he said.

Then, the weekly positivity rate for people from 11 to 17 July 2021 is 30.07 percent. Meanwhile, the daily positivity rate for people is 32.40 percent.

Currently, 404,837 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and the total has reached 41,673,464, and 56,295 people have received the second dose of vaccination, the cumulative total is 16,274,150. Meanwhile, the vaccination target reached 208,265,720 people.
