Kudus Customs And Excise Fails To Deliver Illegal Cigarettes, Saves IDR 207.38 Million Potential State Loss

With this action, it is hoped that KPPBC Kudus can prevent illegal cigarettes from circulating in the market, and potential state losses in the form of excise levies and VAT on tobacco products can be saved. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, Kudus KPPBC continues to monitor illegal cigarettes because during the first semester of 2021, dozens of cases have been revealed.

Previously, the joint team had also succeeded in uncovering a similar case in Jekulo Village, Jekulo District, Kudus Regency, on July 8, 2021. From residential buildings owned by local villagers, 924,500 illegal SKM cigarettes were found packaged into several cartons. The value of the confiscated evidence was Rp. 942.99 million, while the potential loss to the state that was saved was Rp. 619.71 million.
