Police Examine 7 Witnesses In Gowa Satpol PP Case Beating Cafe Owner Ivan Van Houten And His Wife

GOWA - The Gowa Police Team, South Sulawesi, has examined seven witnesses in the case of a criminal act of persecution allegedly carried out by an official of the Gowa Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP).

Gowa Police Chief AKBP Tri Gofaruddin said after investigators received reports from victims Nur Halim alias Ivan Van Houten and his wife Amriana alias Riana, the police then carried out an investigation.

"After the report is received, an investigation will be carried out and currently the examination stage of the seven witnesses," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 15.

The police chief explained that the case of abuse that went viral on social media was allegedly carried out by an individual Satpol PP with the initials MH with two of the victims who were a married couple.

The two married couples are the owners of Ivan and Riana's cafe in Panciro Village, Bajeng District. Both of them were involved in a dispute with the Gowa Satpol PP personnel while controlling the implementation of micro-scale community activity restrictions (PPKM).

There were also witnesses who were examined by two people from the Satpol PP, two from the police and two from the victim's side, and one of them was the general public.

"So seven people were examined, two police officers, two Satpol PP, two victims, and one ordinary citizen. Why are there police officers because this team from various elements carries out micro-scale PPKM control," he said.

Previously, an incident of abuse against a married couple occurred when the Satpol PP carried out an operation to enforce community activities (PPKM) in Panciro, Gowa Regency, Wednesday, July 14.

According to the description of the 1 minute 59 second video, the chronology of the incident began with four teams that were deployed to control micro PPKM.

While on patrol, Satpol PP officers heard quite loud music from a warkop or cafe. The Satpol PP officers entered the cafe to find the owner and review the operating permit.

However, after an argument, the Satpol PP person began to slap the owner, namely Nurhalim alias Ivan Van Houten, then proceeded to his wife, who was said to be eight months pregnant.

For this incident, the two victims then reported to the Gowa Police Headquarters to process the persecution.
