Religious Leader In Banyuwangi Dies During Independent Isolation Of COVID-19
BANYUWANGI - A religious leader in Tamansari Village, Licin District, Banyuwangi died after being exposed to COVID-19. The victim died while self-isolating for 3 days at his home.
“Died last Wednesday night. He is self-isolating (due to COVID-19). He was buried this morning," said the head of Tamansari village, Rizal Saputra, to reporters, Thursday, July 15.
Initially, the patient and his family tested positive for COVID-19 after undergoing close contact tracing. Because he is asymptomatic, the patient is self-isolating at home.
"Initially, his daughter, who served as an analyst at the Paspan Health Center, was confirmed positive for COVID-19. After tracing, it turned out that one family member was also positive. Her husband and both parents," said Licin Health Center officer, Hariyanto.
"Positive rapid antigen test on Monday. The PCR has not come out yet. Because there are no symptoms, so self-isolation at home," he said.
However, on the evening of Wednesday, July 14, the patient's condition began to deteriorate. Unfortunately the patient did not have time to receive medical treatment until finally he was declared dead at his home.
"Had experienced shortness of breath. The family had contacted the health center health officer. But when he got there the person concerned had died. Didn't have time to help," he added.
"There are no comorbidities, because the patient has never been examined. The suspicion is that the heart may be due to hypertension," said Hariyanto.
After the prayer, the body was immediately taken by ambulance to be buried in the family grave located at the Miftahul Huda Islamic Boarding School. Residents who deliver the bodies are only allowed to watch the funeral from a distance.
