Zayed International Airport Has Been Named The Most Beautiful Airport In The World

JAKARTA - Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi has been named the most beautiful airport in the world. This treatment was given at the Versailles Prix held at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France, recently.

Quoting from The National, International Zayed Airport was selected by defeating more than 400 competing airports in the nomination. This airport has strong historical aspects and respect for important figures.

The airport name was created in honor of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who is the founder of the UAE. Zayed International Airport outperforms Felipe Angeles International Airport in Zumpao in Mexico, which is known for its respect for the country's original cultural heritage.

Abu Dhabi Airport Executive Director and Chief Executive, Elena Sorlini, said that Zayed International Airport realized the UAE's vision for the future of the aviation industry. Awards as the most beautiful airport are an additional ambition and innovation with a commitment to improve airport experience.

Zayed International Airport realizes the UAE's vision for the future of aviation, which combines ambitions with innovation. And a commitment to shape the future experience at the airport," Elena said.

This is a very proud moment for airports in Abu Dhabi, which is becoming more important because it coincides with our first anniversary. This is a very painful moment for Abu Dhabi and the UAE," he added.

Zayed International Airport is indeed famous for its attractive interior design. Midfield Terminal or Terminal A at this airport has a striking design, especially the roof of its carving-shaped building, inspired by desert dunes.

The airport roof is not only a prominent design element, but also has a function to reduce energy consumption by overseeing the building. This airport also has another distinctive design, which is like a high arch inside the terminal that creates a magnificent impression.

The airport was built with four piers, each representing the natural elements of Abu Dhabi. Such as deserts, seas, cities, and oasis, with cultural elements that can be seen in every geometrical design of Islam, as well as traditional handicrafts exhibited in certain areas.

One of the other striking features at Zayed International Airport is the 22-meter art installation in the arrival hall, called Sana Al Nour. This work is inspired by Islamic architecture and serves as a design element that helps regulate air and light flow, which can reduce energy consumption by up to 10 percent.

In addition to design beauty, this airport is also equipped with advanced technology. The X-shaped layout minimizes the distance between arrival and departure points. The check-in process is also efficient with modern counters and supermarkets which make it very easy for passengers.
