Losing To Vietnam, Shin Tae-yong Still Believes The Indonesian National Team To The Semifinals
JAKARTA - The coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong, still has great confidence after his squad was defeated by Vietnam. He believes the Garuda squad still has a chance to qualify for the 2024 AFF Cup semifinals.
On the third matchday of the group phase, Sunday, December 15, 2024, the Indonesian national team received a trip schedule to the Viet Tri Stadium, which is Vietnam's headquarters. In that match, Shin Tae-yong's team lost the first with a final score of 0-1.
Losing three points at home to Vietnam made the Indonesian national team in second place in the 2024 AFF Cup Group B standings with a total of four points.
This condition makes the Garuda Squad under the threat of the Philippines which has only played two games and has two points.
"When the group stage is not over, we can't say anything. We will try harder in the game left with the Philippines," Shin Tae-yong was quoted as saying by Vietnamese media Monday, December 16, 2024.
