Very Confident, Tyson Fury Believes He Will Win The Rematch Against Oleksandr Usyk

JAKARTA Former WBC heavyweight champion from England, Tyson Fury believes he will win a rematch against the true heavyweight champion from Ukraine, Okeksandr Usyk. The fight between the two boxers will be held for 12 rounds at Kingdom Arena, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday 21 December 2024.

Usyk won their first fight, which was also held at the Kingdom Arena on May 18. Usyk won through a split decision, a narrow number victory after navigating the match of 12 rounds. Thanks to this victory, Usyk won the WBC championship belt which was previously controlled by Fury.

Despite losing, even having a knockout, in the first match, Fury, who nicknamed The Gypsy King, still tried to be confident in the rematch later. According to him, he has the experience of always winning in rematchs.

I always managed to beat each opponent's knockout in a rematch. Whoever the boxer who is re-oriented with me, I always manage to win a KO," said Fury in his typical style that seemed arrogant, as quoted by Sky Sport.

"I've forgotten the results of the first fight. Now I just need to be more focused and more clever to win the duel. I'm sure this time is the time to win the game," Fury said again.

Fury has played more than once against three boxers. They are John McDermott, Derek Chisora, and Deontay Wilder. All three lost KO or TKO during a rematch against Fury.

To undergo the rematch against Fury, Usyk had to remove the IBF version of the championship belt that he controlled. The belt was finally controlled by British boxer Daniel Dubois who managed to KOE fellow British boxer, Anthony Joshua, in a duel at Wembley Stadium, London, England on September 21.

"I'm happy to be able to have a second match against Tyson. We both learned from experience, to win the game later. It's not an easy fight, because Tyson has a very big body. He's also a talented and smart boxer," said Usyk.

Oleksandr Usyk (37 years old) is an unbeaten boxer with a record 22-0-0 (14 KOs). Meanwhile, Tyson Fury is 36 years old with a record 34-1 (24 KOs).
