ASEAN Cup 2024: Facing Vietnam, Indonesia Drops Three Debuts
JAKARTA - Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae-yong fielded three new debutants against Vietnam in the third match of the ASEAN Cup 2024 at the Viet Tri Stadium which was played on Sunday starting at 20.00 WIB.
In the first eleven that were sent by Shin, the three debutants were Ahmad Maulana Syarif, Mikael Alfredo Tata, and Rivaldo Pakpahan.
The three will play their first minute for the senior team after the previous two matches against Myanmar and Laos did not play.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Ferari, Kadek Arel, Dony Tri Pamungkas, Arkhan Fikri, and Hokky Caraka are the five players who have always been the main choices of the South Korean coach as a starter.
Ferari, Kadek, and Dony became irreplaceable players or always played every minute in the previous two matches.

In the goalkeeper position, Shin again chose Cahya Supriadi as goalkeeper after the player only sat down on the bench in the previous match against Laos.
Two senior players, Rafael Struick and Pratama Arhan in this match sit on the bench and may start their playing minutes in the second half.
The meeting against Vietnam became Indonesia's fourth meeting with a team nicknamed The Golden Stars this year after the 2023 Asian Cup and two in the second round of the Asian zone 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The three meetings were won by Indonesia 5-0 on aggregate.
