Andra Soni Commemorates HDI With Hundreds Of Banten Disabled

JAKARTA - The elected governor of Banten, Andra Soni, celebrates International Disability Day (HDI) 2024 with hundreds of members of the Community Areas of Disabilities (Koreda) of Banten Province. This activity is to equalize perceptions to similar people about the importance of not giving up due to limitations.

"Through this momentum, of course, friends need to share perceptions so as not to use limitations as an excuse to give up and take shortcuts that should not be done," Andra Soni said in a statement in Serang, Sunday.

Andra Soni advised them to always be enthusiastic in everything with existing limitations. The chairman of Koreda Banten, Nur Hadi Asmara, after the activity explaining that the event, which was held on Saturday (14/12), welcomed the commemoration day which falls on December 3.

At the same time, his party hopes that local governments can improve the welfare of persons with disabilities, one of which is to form a Disabilities Service Unit.

"Koreda in 2025 hopes that Banten can be disability friendly, then we have high hopes that the government can apply the rules for the absorption of people with disabilities at least one percent for the private sector and two percent for state agencies and companies," he said.

Head of the Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans) of Banten Province, Septo Kalnadi, promised to immediately form the ULD as a form of implementation of related regulations.

"God willing, with this meeting we will soon form an ULD, of course to implement the mandate of the law," he said.

In this activity, the community also launched a Koreda Apparel brand product whose design was made by people with down syndrome as a result of the work classroom at the association.
