YOGYAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono appointed former Commander of the Jayakarta Military Regional Command (Pangdam Jaya) Major General TNI (Ret.) Untung Budiharto as President Commissioner of PT Transjakarta.

Biodata Untung Budiharto was born in Dukuh Benda, Pangkah Village, Pangkah District, Tegal Regency in 1965. Setamat at SMA Negeri 1 Slawi, Untung Budiharto continued his education at the Military Academy (Akmil) and graduated 1988 from Infantry branching.

In his military career, Untung Budiharto was Prabowo Subianto's subordinate in the Special Forces Corps (Kopassus).

He had worked as Assistant for Kopassus Planning in 2009 '2010 and Pamen Expert for Kopassus Group IV for Parako Tactics.

At Kopassus, Untung Budiharto also briefly joined the Mawar Team, Tim IV Kopassus when Prabowo Subianto became Commander General (Danjen) Kopassus.

Mawar's team was the mastermind behind the arrest and kidnapping operations of dozens of activists towards the end of President Suharto's administration in 1998. Fortunately, Budiharto and several members of Mawar's Team had attended a trial at the Jakarta Military Law Council.

At that time, Tuesday (9/4/1999), Untung Budiharto, who is still in the rank of Captain (Inf) was sentenced to 20 months in prison and fired as a member of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) along with several other members of the Mawar Team. Meanwhile, Mawar's Team Commander Major (Inf) Bambang Kristiono was sentenced to 22 months in prison and fired as a member of the Indonesian National Army (TNI). Some of the other soldiers were also sentenced to prison even though they were not fired as members of the Indonesian National Army (TNI).

However, 5 soldiers who were fired filed an appeal in 2000, including Untung Budiharto. The appeal verdict said Untung Budiharto was only sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison without being subject to dismissal.

Saat sebelum menjadi Pangdam Jaya, Untung Budiharto menduduki beberapa jabatan berarti tidak hanya di Kopasssus. Ia sempat Wakil Asisten kasad pada 20172019 serta Kepala Staf Komando Wilayah Militer(Kasdam)I/Bukit Barisan pada 20192020.

He also underwent the profession of the Director ofTENance and National Body Exercise Search and Rescue in 2020 as well as the Main Secretary of the National Counterterrorism Body (BNPT) in 2020-2021 when his conclusion was entrusted as the Special Staff of the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) since 2021.
