2 Juve Goals Against Bologna Goalkeeper Scored Midfielder, Pirlo: We Don't Need A New Striker
JAKARTA - Andrea Pirlo insists a new striker is not a priority for Juventus even though Paulo Dybala still has knee problems and three of his strikers are fit: Cristiano Ronaldo, Dejan Kulusevski and Alvaro Morata did not score against Bologna.
The Old Lady beat Bologna 2-0 at Allianz Stadium on Sunday with goals from two of her midfielders, Arthur and Weston McKennie. The Italy coach said the Old Lady should have been more clinical before discussing the club's transfer strategy in January.
"We don't need a new striker," he said at a post-match press conference attended by the Italian Football.
"We are monitoring the situation, but a new striker is not a priority."
Then, when will Paulo Dybala return to action?
"He's trying to recover, he has a problem in his knee. We will evaluate it day by day. "
At the moment, Juventus are seven points behind leaders Milan, but have one game left in play.
"We have to focus on ourselves, our path depends on what we do. Both Milan and Inter want to win titles and the same applies to Roma and Napoli, this will be a fight until the end, "explained Pirlo.
As previously reported, the Rossoneri have added to their front line strength by signing former Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic. What is Pirlo's response?
"It's normal Milan want to sign important players, I don't know Mandzukic because we didn't play together here at Juventus, but he is a great striker and he will prove his worth," he concluded.
