PSSIは、FIFAマッチデーインドネシア対パレスチナに先立ち、ゲロラ・トモ・スラバヤの準備ができていることを確認します

PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir confirmed the readiness of the Gelora Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT) in Surabaya City to host the FIFA Matchday Indonesian national team against the Palestinian national team on June 14.

PSSI Erick Thohir said that the Surabaya GBT Stadium is one of the best stadiums in Indonesia that has met FIFA standards. Therefore, the Surabaya GBT Stadium is believed to be the venue for the FIFA Matchday match between the Indonesian national team and the Palestinian national team.

"At that time it was FIFA standard but it is still under renovation and today we re-check, Alhamdulillah everything has been completed. This means that this is the standard FIFA, so this is really one of the best fields in Indonesia, of course with international standards," Erick said as quoted from the Surabaya City Government Diskominfo statement, Tuesday, June 6.

Erick Thohir appreciated the readiness of the Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) in preparing all the facilities at the Surabaya GBT Stadium. Starting from the VVIP room, spectator stands, the readiness of the official dressing room, press room, to the main field section of the GBT Stadium.

"Therefore, we also appreciate the preparations from the city of Surabaya at that time, so we give confidence for one of the FIFA Matchday matches in June, namely June 14 (match) between the Indonesian National Team against the Palestinian National Team. The Palestinian players will arrive in Surabaya on June 10 or 11 to undergo training sessions. Meanwhile, the Indonesian national team is also training at GBT and will return to Jakarta on June 15-16 to prepare for Argentina at Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta," he said.

Erick explained that this match was very important for the Indonesian national team in winning points. In addition, the match between the Garuda Squad against the Palestinian national team is one of the friendly matches between the two countries. This is because this match is a form of Indonesia's attitude in supporting the Palestinian struggle.

"Therefore, I and the Exco, as well as Mr. Wali (Eri Cahyadi) decided that we will donate 10 percent of the proceeds from ticket sales to the struggle of the Palestinian people and indeed Indonesia itself has always been committed that independence is the right of the entire nation," he explained.

However, the chairman of PSSI emphasized that the FIFA Matchday match was not the first and last match for the Indonesian national team to compete in the city of Surabaya. Erick promised that he would bring the Indonesian national team back to compete in the City of Heroes. Therefore, he asked for full support from Mayor Eri Cahyadi and the Surabaya City Government to continue to maintain the Surabaya GBT Stadium.

"Earlier I promised that by the agreement at that time, we will bring back several more national team matches in Surabaya. I hope full support from the local government and the Mayor to continue to keep this stadium in accordance with the standards that have been applied by FIFA. And I also remind the supporters to really be able to maintain security because they are the hosts," he said.

Therefore, Erick reminded again, until now FIFA is still carrying out the monitoring process regarding football activities in Indonesia. So, he appealed not to do excessive euphoria.

"That the FIFA process period accepts that our readiness to roll out football is still under monitoring, so don't be euphoric as if we are free. July 1, 2023 (Liga) will start again, this is very important. So God willing, we will take care of Indonesian football, especially yesterday we already have this golden generation, both U17, U-19, U-20, U-21 and U-23, we are very serious about preparing the Indonesian national team," he said.
