The Department of Transportation (Dishub) of Medan City, North Sumatra, asked residents as users of roadside parking services not to hesitate to report unscrupulous parking attendants in this area.
"Residents do not need to hesitate, report if someone violates parking rules. We will try our best to overcome these complaints," said Medan City Transportation Agency Parking Head Nikmal Lubis, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 5.
His party continues to make efforts to arrange roadside parking in Medan City, both manual parking and electronic parking.
The arrangement was carried out by monitoring parking locations on a number of roads, and continuing to socialize parking attendants in order to comply with the regulations that had been set.
This step was taken aimed at enforcing the applicable regulations, so that it could provide comfort to the residents of Medan City.
"There are several roads that we are monitoring, including Jalan Perdana, Jalan Brigadier General Katamso and Jalan Zainul Arifin," he said.
His party did not deny that there were still several parked vehicles that did not comply with the regulations, so Medan City Transportation Agency officers ordered the parking attendant to rearrange.
In addition, his party also appealed to parking attendants to comply with the rules and take firm action if violations continue to be carried out repeatedly.
The Medan City Transportation Agency targets local revenue from the roadside parking retribution sector of IDR 30 billion this year or an increase of around 50 percent compared to 2022.
"We continue to urge parking attendants. However, we are still humane, and we have not given sanctions. If they remain stubborn, we will give strict sanctions," said Nikmal.
