ABK From Myanmar Drowns In Kuala Jambi, SAR Searches 25 Marine Mil From Lost Point
The joint SAR team is searching for a crew member from Myanmar who went missing in the waters of Tanjung Solok, Kuala Jambi District, East Tanjungjabung Regency, Jambi Province.
The crew fell and sank while sailing using the TB Highline barge on Tuesday 30 May.
Head of Basarnas Jambi Kornelis said that he had deployed a team to join the joint SAR team in Tanjungjabung Timur (Tanjabtim) to help search for victims.
"The Basarnas team has joined a team at the scene to help find a foreign crew from Myanmar named Tin Koo (23) in the eastern waters of Tanjabtim Regency, Jambi," he said in Jambi, Wednesday, May 31, which was confiscated by Antara.
The search was carried out based on information from Polairud Sabak that one foreigner from Myanmar fell from Tongkang TB Highline and drowned in the waters of Tanjung Solok.
Kornelis said the victim, who is a foreign national from Mynamar, was named Tin Koo for the chronology of the incident, namely on May 30, 2023 at around 10:00 WIB, the TB Highline ship sailed from Malaysia to Jambi, where the victim and three other witnesses used a pompong boat to lower the rampdoor barge.
When the pompong ship was approaching the bow of the barge, the victim immediately jumped and fell into the waters of Tanjung Solok where based on the testimony of witnesses the victim could not swim and so far the victim has not been found.
After receiving this information, at 14.30 WIB, Basarnas Jambi dispatched a team to the scene to conduct a search with the joint team there and until now the Joint SAR Team is still searching with an area of around 25 NM together with local fishermen.
