60-Year-Old Elderly Burned To Death In Ex-Development Of Duren Sawit Area

JAKARTA - An elderly man (elderly) was reported to have died in a fire incident in a used house and semi-permanent house on Jalan Lingkar Duren Sawit, RT 01/04, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta. The victim was found in a state of fire.

"The victim died of one man aged about 60 years. And one middle-aged woman aged about 43 years suffered burns of 10 percent on her hands and cheeks," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, May 30.

From the results of the officer's examination at the location, the body of an elderly man who was burned to the ground was difficult to identify.

"However, according to local residents, there is a resident who still has no news, he is suspected of looking for his grandchildren to be saved," he said.

Meanwhile, the other victim who suffered burns was Indah Nawang Sari (43), a resident of the PTB Blok S Complex, Duren Sawit Village. The victim has been taken to the nearest hospital for treatment.

"The area of the burned area is 25 stall buildings and semi-permanent houses with an area of 1,200 meters. The loss is estimated at IDR 500 million," he said.

The fire began to burn at around 02.45 WIB and began to die out at 07.15 WIB. The process of extinguishing the fire was carried out by 19 fire engines with 95 personnel.

"The cause is suspected to be because someone burned garbage and then there was a fire propagation and it grew. The fire incident was discovered by one of the residents who was carrying out the patrol, he saw that there was a fire that had grown in the middle. Residents also reported it to us," he said.
