Jakut Police Chief Confirms Body In Sack In Toll Road Identified As Murder Victim
The Head of the North Jakarta Metro Resort Police, Police Commissioner Gidion Arif Setyawan, confirmed that the bodies found under the Cibitung-Cilincing Sector 4 Toll Road, in the Marunda area, were murder victims.
"We found indications of violence from the victim's body. Thus, we confirm this is a murder case," said Gidion in North Jakarta, Saturday, May 27.
However, Gidion has not been able to provide information about the gender of the victim or the chronology of the incident because the examination is still in its early stages.
The location of the discovery of the corpse is under the Cibitung-Cilincing Sector 4 Toll Road, right on the edge of the East Flood Canal, RT01/RW02 area, Marunda Village, Cilincing, North Jakarta.
The body was found wrapped in a sack by a scavenger. This discovery began when a scavenger was looking for trash under the toll road.
"When looking for garbage, the scavenger saw large plastic near the grass," said an eyewitness named Hendri Widrianto (25) at the scene.
The curious scavenger then opened the black plastic and found the sack tied inside.
After unbinding the sacks, it turned out that there was a woman's body that was in a rotting condition in it.
"The scavenger immediately called the residents, coincidentally I was taking a break from drinking ice after fishing," said Hendri.
"Until finally we went to the location to open the sack, and inside there was the body of a woman with long hair and visible ears," he added.
After the discovery, residents immediately reported to the police. Members from the Cilincing Police and the North Jakarta Metro Police immediately went to the location to conduct an initial crime scene (TKP) investigation.
The toll road which was the location where the bodies were found had been brought by officers into the hearse to be taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for further processing.
