Reviewing The Jragung Semarang Dam, Minister Basuki Asks To Pay Attention To Environmental Sustainability
JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono reviewed the progress of the construction of the Jragung Dam in Semarang Regency, on Friday, May 19.
In the review, Minister Basuki advised to pay attention to the quality of technical aspects, aesthetics and environmental sustainability in resolving the Jragung Dam.
"Please pay attention to the geological technique in the implementation of development. Be careful with the sand conditions above the clay, be aware of landslides. The construction methodology must also be careful," Basuki said in a written statement, Saturday, May 20.
Basuki said, to maintain environmental conditions, in the implementation of development, efforts are made not to cut down many trees. "Forest forest areas that are not affected by the development section should not be cut down, aesthetics must be neat and clean, once the work is completed, clean from material remains," he said.
He also advised the implementing contractors and supervisory consultants to work together in completing the construction of the Jragung Dam, so that it can be completed on time.
"Currently, with construction progress of 30 percent, so that all existing implementing contractors can work well together. Although there are different work packages, all one team is in the construction of the Jragung Dam," said Basuki.

For your information, the Jragung Dam with a capacity of 90 million m3, mainly will be useful as a raw water source for the Semarang City area of 500 liters/second, Grobogan Regency 250 liters/second, and Demak Regency 250 liters/second, and supply water for irrigation areas with an area of 4,528 Ha in Demak Regency.
The construction contract of the Jragung Dam was signed at the end of 2020 and began construction in mid-2021 after land preparation. The Jragung Dam construction work consists of three work packages with a work scope of Packages I and II in the form of excavations and piles of main dams, cliff protection, drilling and grouting, and Package III covering access road work, river defectors, spillway buildings, and other works such as Public Facilities (fasum) buildings and the relocation of SUTET 500kV.
Package I was carried out by service provider PT Waskita Karya with a contract value of Rp806.3 billion with a physical progress of 18.12 percent, Package II was carried out by PT Wijaya Karya-PT BRP (KSO) with a contract value of Rp758 billion with a progress of 28.07 percent, and Package III was carried out by PT Brantas Abipraya-PT Pelita Nusa Perkasa (KSO) worth Rp735.9 billion with a physical progress of 45.06 percent.
