Enlivening Indonesia's EV Market, Seres Will Produce 100 Percent Of Electric Vehicles

The Periclindo Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS) has again presented a row of electric vehicles, both cars and motorcycles, most recently in Indonesia from 17-21 May 2023 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

As one of the founders of the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association (Periklindo), DFSK also presents the latest rows of electric vehicles.

At PEVS 2023, visitors can find and see closely DFSK Gelora E, which is the first electric-based light trading vehicle in Indonesia. However, the DFSK Brand Holder Agent (APM), PT Sokoindo Automobile, also includes a new model that will be involved in EV competition in Indonesia, namely Seres.

"We introduce SERES as a new brand for the passenger segment in the electric vehicle market in Indonesia. SERES is currently available in several countries in Europe, Asia, and America, so this shows good acceptance of vehicles on the continent," said Franz Wang, PT Sokoindo Automobile's Chief Operating Officer in his statement.

Different from the DFSK which produces vehicles with internal combustion engines (ICE), the Seres Group will focus on renewable energy vehicles such as electricity.

Seres will run a new energy vehicle corridor with battery cores, electric motors, and several other components. With this, Seres became the first automotive brand to present 100 percent of electric vehicles in Indonesia.

As a symbol of the launch of the Seres brand, PT Sokoindo Automobile also presented Seres E1, which is a small electric-powered hatchback that has two doors.

Later the Seres brand will share a factory with DFSK located in Cikande, Banten by producing domestic vehicles and exports to various countries.
