Mahfud MD感謝MA判決ボスKSPインドスリヤヘンリースーリヤ18年の懲役
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD appreciated the Supreme Court for convicting the founder of the Indosurya Savings and Loans Cooperative (KSP), Henry Surya with a sentence of 18 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 15 billion, subsidiary to eight months.
The verdict was decided by the Supreme Court's panel of judges on Tuesday (16/5) yesterday on the appeal filed by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) against a decision that was previously handed down to Henry Surya by a panel of judges at the West Jakarta District Court (PN) in a case of alleged fraud and embezzlement of KSP Indosurya funds.
"I appreciate the Supreme Court for sentenced Henry Surya to 18 years in prison and a fine of tens of billions of rupiah," Mahfud wrote in a tweet via his official Twitter account, @mohmahfudmd, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 17.
Mahfud reminded the government that it had stated that it would continue to pursue the law against Henry Surya after the decision from the West Jakarta District Court.
He and his staff have also held a coordination meeting involving the Attorney General's Office, the National Police, and the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises to follow up on this matter.
"It is agreed that Henry Surya will continue to carry out the cassation and continue to open new cases whose hampus and locus delicti are different," Mahfud wrote.
In addition, the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs has also invited campuses to circumvent the verdict of the West Jakarta District Court which he calls odd in the case of KSP Indosurya.
Mahfud closed his tweet thread by reiterating his appreciation to the Supreme Court for the verdict.
"Thank you to the Supreme Court Panel of Judges for upholding justice in the Indosurya case and Henry Surya's crimes," wrote Mahfud.
Quoted from the official website of the Supreme Court, the Panel of Judges led by Suhadi and consisting of Suharto and Jupriyadi have decided to grant the prosecutor's cassation of the defendant / respondent Henry Surya on Tuesday (16/5).
"Bataljudex facti. Adiri sendiri. Terbukti Pasal 46 Paragraph 1 dan Pasal 3 pidana 18 tahun penjara, denda Rp 15 miliar subsider 8 bulan," demikian putusan yang dibacakan Ketua Panel Hakim MA Suhadi, sebagaimana diakses di situs resmi MA, Rabu, 17 Mei.
Henry Surya is the founder and chairman of KSP Indosurya who is one of two defendants in the alleged fraud and embezzlement of funds with the Finance Director of KSP Indosurya, June Indria.
The case cost 23,000 people with a total loss of Rp106 trillion.
June was acquitted on January 18, 2023 at the West Jakarta District Court. The judge stated that he would release June Indria from all lawsuits.
June's rights were also restored. The trial was chaired by judge Kamaludin as chairman of the panel of judges and Praditia Dandindra and Flowerry Yulidas as members, respectively.

Following that, Henry was acquitted by the West Jakarta District Court on January 24, 2023. Henry is said to have been proven to have committed a civil act in this case.
On March 7, 2023, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs conducted a review of the KSP Indosurya case at his office in Jakarta by inviting the Coordinating Minister for SMEs Teten Masduki and three speakers, namely the Deputy Attorney General for Youth Crimes (Jampidum) at the AGO Fadil Zumhana, Deputy for Cooperatives of the Ministry of Cooperatives at the Ministry of SMEs Ahmad Zabadi, and representatives of Bareskrim Polri guided by former Chairman of the Judicial Commission Suparman Marzuki.
The Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs also invited a number of experts from various universities and representatives of independent research institutions to provide views.
Mahfud at that time emphasized that the decision to be released from the West Jakarta District Court on the case was the wrong decision.
"The verdict is wrong, it is not true that the verdict is on the onslag van rechtsvervolging (decisions regardless of all lawsuits, ed.), because this is clearly a criminal act," Mahfud said in a post-case press statement, Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
