Single Traffic Accident On Cipali Toll Road During One-way Engineering, Two People Died
JAKARTA - A single traffic accident that resulted in two deaths occurred on the Cipali Toll Road (Cikopo-Palimanan) during the implementation of one-way traffic engineering.
The incident involving the Toyota Calya vehicle number B-2817-TZG occurred on Thursday morning at the Cipali Toll Road KM 84+500 in the Subang Regency, West Java.
According to information from ASTRA officers from the Cipali Toll Road, the accident occurred when the Calya vehicle was passing from Jakarta to Cirebon when the one-way system was implemented.
However, while crossing KM 84, the Calya vehicle suddenly swerved and hit the guardrail around the location. The driver is thought to be sleepy and less anticipated.
ASTRA officers from the Cipali Toll Road who came to the location reported that the incident left two people dead and six others injured.
For the injured victims, they were evacuated to Ciereng Hospital and Almost Subang Hospital. The victim who died was taken to Rayhan Hospital, Kalijati Subang.
Meanwhile, the traffic engineering for one way from KM 70 Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (GT) to KM 414 Kalikangkung which is scheduled to be completed at 12.00 WIB will continue until Thursday night.
Lisye Octaviana, Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk., in a statement received by Antara in Purwakarta, Thursday, explained that the application of one way continued because the volume of vehicles was still increasing.
Based on data on the volume of vehicle traffic which is still increasing from the direction of Jakarta to the East, he said, one way which was originally completed on Thursday at 12.00 WIB, or will continue. This was done on the discretion of the police.
Currently one way applies from KM 70 Cikampek Utama Toll Gate Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road to KM 414 Kalikangkung Toll Gate Batang-Semarang Toll Road.
With the start of the one way point at KM 70 GT Cikampek Utama, road users from Cikampek heading towards Jakarta will be diverted to Bukit Indah City to re-enter the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road towards Jakarta via GT Kalihurip 2.
The engineering extension of one way traffic is expected to end on Thursday at 24.00 WIB.
However, if in a period of 3 hours before the expiration schedule there is still a significant increase in traffic volume from Jakarta to the east, it is possible to reschedule the traffic engineering schedule for one way.
