JAKARTA - A German manufacturer, BMW, continues to work with MotoGP as a safety car supplier for the 2023 season.BMW presents the latest generation from BMW M2 as a safety car and this is a celebration of collaboration with MotoGP for 25 years.Quoted from Carscoops, Thursday, March 16, BMW made several changes to the M2 which was used as a safety car. Seen from the use of color patterns that show the identity of BMW M, namely red, blue, and white.Plus the siren that is placed on the roof of the car. The siren light is useful for warning against a certain condition. BMW also added a rear wing supplied by M Performance Part.Changes also exist in the interior. BMW installed a racing seat from Recaro with the use of six-dot seat belts. There are also roll bars on the back and other emergency equipment such as Light Fire Extinguishers (APAR) and P3K.Just like the standard version, the M2 safety car is equipped with a straight 6-cylinder engine with a 3,000 cc Twin Turbo capacity which can generate 452 dk of power and a 550 Nm torque paired with a rear wheel drive system and an automatic transmission of eight accelerations.The car will begin its inaugural task as a safety car at the Portuguese GP which will take place on March 26.For your information, the standard version of the BMW M2 is pegged at a price of 63,000 US dollars or if converted into around Rp970 million.
