DKI Deputy Governor: Princess Rizieq Shihab's Wedding Reception Is Acceptable As Long As It Follows The Rules
JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria allowed the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab to hold a wedding reception for his daughter, Syarifah Najwa Shihab on Sunday, November 14, as long as he adheres to PSBB rules.
According to Riza, currently wedding receptions both in the village or at home can be held, therefore the DKI Provincial Government does not question Syarifah's marriage even though it is likely that many people will attend.
"Yes, it is permissible now, if you want a reception please," said Riza at the Jakarta City Hall, reported by Antara, Thursday, November 12.
However, Riza asked the leader of FPI (Islamic Defenders Front) Rizieq Shihab to comply with the health protocol according to the large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) policy in DKI Jakarta considering that the transmission of COVID-19 in the capital is still high.
"Of course, those who carry out wedding receptions have provisions including health protocols," he said.
The health protocol, said Riza, was not only to be implemented by Rizieq and his family. Invited guests, including sympathizers from various Islamic organizations, must wear masks, wash their hands and keep their distance.
"What is important, we ask, all of them must comply with the provisions and regulations. Comply with the COVID-19 health protocol," he said.
The plan, Rizieq Shihab will marry his daughter to Irfan Alaydrus. The event will be held at his residence in the Petamburan area, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.
