Red Notice Session, Inspector General Napoleon And Brigadier General Prasetijo Indicted For Receiving Bribes Of Hundreds Of Thousands Of Dollars
JAKARTA - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) has accused Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte of receiving hundreds of thousands of US and Singapore dollars from Joko Tjandra. The money was intended to remove Joko Tjandra's red notice when he was still a fugitive in the case of transfer of collection rights or cessie Bank Bali.
"(Inspector General Napoleon) Received a sum of SGD200,000.00 and an amount of USD270,000.00," said the prosecutor at the indictment trial at the Corruption Crime Court (Tipikor) at the Central Jakarta District Court, Monday, November 2.
During the trial, the prosecutor also charged Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo with receiving hundreds of thousands of US dollars. The two Porli generals accepted bribes from the defendant Tommy Sumardi.
"Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo received a sum of USD 150,000 from Joko Soegiarto Tjandra through H Tommy Sumardi," he continued.
In the indictment, the prosecutor said that Inspector General Napoleon gave the order to issue a letter addressed to the Directorate General of Immigration. The letter was intended to remove Djoko Tjandra's name from the Enhanced Cekal System (ECS) at the Immigration Information System (SIMKIM) of the Directorate General of Immigration.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General Prasetijo did things that were contrary to his duties as a police officer. Supposedly as a police officer, Persoonel was tasked with arresting Joko Tjandra who was a fugitive.
"Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo delivered and introduced H. Tommy Sumardi to the accused Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte," said the prosecutor.
In the case of alleged bribery for the removal of red notice, the investigators named four people as suspects. They act as recipients and givers.
Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte and Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo were named as suspects because they were suspected of being the recipients of bribes for the removal of red notice. Meanwhile, Tommy Sumardi and Djoko Tjandra were named as suspects on suspicion of giving bribes.
