Sandiaga Uno Reportedly Entering The PPP Ketum Candidate Exchange, Gerindra Is Sure Will Not Be Accepted

JAKARTA - The chairman of the Gerindra Party, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that Sandiaga Uno often received offers from other parties to become chairman.

This was conveyed by Dasco in response to the inclusion of the name of the Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party Board of Trustees into the candidate market for chairman of the United Development Party (PPP).

"It's not only PPP that offers. Yes, indeed, the invitation to become chairman of another party means that Sandi is accepted and has a large number of voters," Dasco told reporters in Jakarta, Monday, October 26.

Although now Sandiaga's name is widely included in the candidate market for ketum, he hopes that the former deputy governor of DKI Jakarta will remain in the party bearing the Garuda bird. "We still hope that Sandi will become our extended family and we are sure that Sandi will not accept other parties' invitations," he said.

The same conviction also emerged from Sandiaga's spokesman, Kawendra Lukistian. He said, Sandi would remain a loyal cadre of the party made by Prabowo Subianto. He also believed that the businessman would not waver even though there were many offers to change political parties.

"I believe Bang Sandi will continue to fight for the people with Pak Prabowo in Gerindra. He is a loyal person in fighting, not a person whose stance is easy to shake. God willing, I really believe, he is committed to jointly raising Gerindra," he said.

Moreover, currently the relationship between Sandi and Gerindra Party officials is also going well and intensely. In addition, his wife, Nur Asia Uno, also has a structural position in the party management. So it is unlikely that the politician will change parties. "Bang Sandi is very fond and comfortable with Gerindra," said Kawendra.

Meanwhile, PPP Deputy Secretary General (Wasekjen) Achmad Baidowi admitted that his party is indeed eyeing Sandiaga even though it is only a discourse and not serious enough.

"Not many (PPP cadres, ed) suggested. It was just that in an informal chat which was not serious enough," said the politician who is familiarly called Awiek.

Moreover, within his party there is a minimum time rule for party officials at the central and regional levels to run as a candidate for chairman. So, it will be difficult when Sandiaga is right to run for chairman.

"Why do we say that it is not serious enough, because it is not accompanied by concrete political steps. Because the requirements to become a ketum must be at least one period in the DPP or DPW," he concluded.
