BEM Nusantara Select Judicial Review Of Job Creation Law To MK

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM) prefers to take the judicial review or judicial review or judicial review of the Work Creation Law Omnibus Law to the Constitutional Court.

"This is more appropriate in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. All parties must follow health protocols that do not allow groups of more than 50 people and maintain their distance," said BEM Nusantara Central Coordinator Hengky Primana in a statement in Jakarta, Monday.

He said that his party did not want a new cluster in the spread of COVID-19.

"As we know, news circulated that the DPR RI building was closed after the news that 18 members of the DPR RI were exposed to COVID-19. This makes the aspirations we convey to the DPR RI building useless, because there is no leadership in there," he said. Hengky.

According to him, there are 3 routes to cancel the Omnibus Law, namely legislative review, judicial review and Perpu. Of the three options, according to him, the most likely is to take a judicial review.

"Because the DPR RI and the president have insisted on not conducting a legislative review or Perpu, and the JR results will later provide an absolute decision that cannot be contested," he said.

Hengky emphasized that BEM Nusantara did not reject it as a whole, but there were several points from the Omnimbus Law that had to be revised again.

"Not all of the Omnibus Law is bad, but there are several points that need to be corrected," explained Hengky.

BEM Nusantara also appreciates comrades who take other routes, but remain vigilant on every demonstration of "stowaways".

"But we must remain vigilant about stowaway passengers who take part in our pure action and I urge you to maintain health protocols," he said.
