There Are Irregularities, The Police Investigate The Alleged Involvement Of Prison Officers From The Cai Changpan Escape Action
JAKARTA - The police are still hunting for Cai Changpan, an escaped prisoner from the Tangerang Class I Penitentiary. While looking for Cai Chanpan, the police investigated the alleged involvement of prison officers in the action.
"We, together with the prison team, are still investigating the possibility of a connection from prison officials or the possibility of other linkages, we are still exploring everything," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Wednesday, September 30.
The emergence of allegations of involvement of prison officers is due to several irregularities found when processing the crime scene (TKP). One of the reasons was that the officers did not immediately know about the escape.
"If we count there are three sif (guards) there, the first one they should have checked directly, then the second is the same, then the third was caught and then the suspect fled," said Yusri.
However, based on the results of examining his cellmates, Cai Changpan escaped by digging the ground using a small shovel. The tool was also obtained from the kitchen construction activities at the prison.
"According to the information from one prisoner cell, that the tools were obtained from a nearby kitchen construction, starting with small shovels, we are still exploring this," he said.
Previously, the Head of Public Relations and Protocol of the Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjen PAS) Rika Aprianti denied the alleged involvement of prison officers behind Cai Changoan's escape. The reason is that there is no evidence or clues that can substantiate the allegation.
"Currently there is no evidence that directs the involvement of officers," Rika told VOI , Sunday, September 27.
Meanwhile, regarding the development of the hunt for Cai Changpan, Rika said, the team from the Directorate General of PAS and the Police had yet to find information on his whereabouts.
"Not yet (development), still in the search process," he briefly.
