Trailer and Poster of AUTOPSY: Dead Body Can Talk Officially Released, Pick up the Story of the Police Forensic Expert

JAKARTA - The production house Karya Kreatif Utama officially released the official trailer and the first poster of their latest film titled AUTOPSY: Dead Body Can Talk.

This step is the beginning of a series of promotions before the cinema that raises the reality of medical investigations is shown simultaneously in Indonesian cinemas starting September 3.

The trailer features a cold, precise, and mysterious forensic room atmosphere. The film focuses on the power of the story of scientific investigation, where a body transforms from just a dead object into a crucial key witness.

Every medical sign, from scratches, bruises, to the presence of foreign substances in the victim's body, is analyzed in depth to reveal crimes that are deliberately covered up.

Interestingly, this film is based on the true story of an important figure in the Indonesian police and medical world, Brigjen Pol. Dr. dr. Sumy Hastry Purwanti, who is the first female forensic expert in Southeast Asia.

Viewers will be invited to see how a forensic doctor is dedicated to voicing the rights of crime victims who have been forcibly silenced through scientific proof.

The character of Dr. Sumy Hastry himself was entrusted to actress Masayu Anastasia as the main character, supported by a line-up of other actors such as Samuel Rizal and Ge Pamungkas.

The director of AUTOPSY: Dead Body Can Talk, Ozan Ruz, emphasized that the main focus of the film's development is based on the power of reality and the psychological aspects of the characters, rather than relying on the conventional horror formula that is often found in the local film market. The intimate visual approach is deliberately presented to bind the audience's emotions deeply.

"Through intimate visuals and a pressing atmosphere, I want to take the audience on Dr. Hastry's emotional journey. Empathy is his main strength, not something supernatural, but rather the sensitivity that guides him to find clues, which are then always proven through forensic science," said Ozan Ruz at the release of the official trailer and poster in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Monday, July 13.

Meanwhile, Rina Tarigan as Story Origin explained the reason for choosing the figure of the police forensic doctor as the main foundation for writing the story.

"The initial idea for this film comes from a simple thought that a story based on real events will have a stronger emotional connection with the audience, especially if it is inspired by a figure who is widely known for his dedication and contributions in his field," said Rina.

Furthermore, Fariz Stanzah as the producer revealed the great challenge faced by the team to maintain a balance between the artistic dramaturgy of the film and the validity of medical procedures in the field.

"From the beginning, we understood that this film demands a high level of authenticity in presenting the forensic world to the big screen. Therefore, every production decision we make takes into account the balance between artistic needs, visual accuracy, and efficiency of implementation in the field," said Fariz.

In line with this, Marsa Moesa who also acts as a producer believes that the cinema audience in Indonesia today is increasingly mature in choosing entertainment, so that the presence of this psychological-forensic thriller genre can become a new standard.

"I believe that every era has a film that is able to expand the way its audience views. Today, Indonesian audiences show incredible maturity; they are no longer just looking for entertaining entertainment, but also stories that challenge curiosity and invite them to think. That is the belief that underlies the birth of AUTOPSY: Dead Body Can Talk," concluded Marsa.
