Reporting from the Images Down page on Saturday, November 22, 2025, the robe was also decorated with pictures of olive branches and a key, two strong symbols of the Palestinian people's resistance and determination after the Nakba incident, namely the massive expulsion of Palestinians after the 1948 Arab 'Israeli war.
The olive branch reflects the resilience of the Palestinian economy, considering that olive trees have been planted and managed for centuries. Meanwhile, the key symbolizes hope of returning to their homeland. Many Nakba survivors kept their home keys and passed them on to the next generation.
Sulaman in the Ayoub dress uses traditional tatreez techniques, a typical embroidery style of Palestinian villages that develops into a cultural symbol when the first intifadah. According to Roya News, the colors of the embroider are also a tribute to the famous olives in Palestine.
Ayoub's head accessory, referred to as a crown, was inspired by shatweh, the traditional head ornament of the coin decorated which is commonly worn by Palestinian brides. The injections worn were also based on the motives of the Star of Bethlehem, one of the patterns of tatreez from the ancient city.
Ayoub said appearing in clothing full of symbols on the Miss Universe stage was one of the most meaningful moments in her life. For him, this is not just a dress, but a legacy, voice, and heart that is brought to the world stage.
