JAKARTA Wuling Motors (Wuling) recently officially launched Darion, an environmentally friendly MPV designed for the family segment and produced directly in Indonesia.

The VOI team had the opportunity to try out this car some time ago. Although the duration of testing is relatively short, we want to share a little impression of driving for the PHEV variant. Before discussing the driving experience, let's get to know more about the design first.

Design

Externally, the Wuling Darion features a combination of elegant designs and a typical streamline of modern family vehicles. The flowing body lines provide better aerodynamics, while the Diamond Cut Grille on the PHEV variant adds a premium impression. Both EV and PHEV versions carry X-Shape-style headlights and back, 17-inch rims with modern cap centers, as well as hidden door sliding designs that make the body look more unified. Each detail is designed to highlight the balance between functions and styles.

Feelings of Driving

As soon as he entered the cabin, Darion immediately gave a impression of relief in each row of seats. When invited to accelerate, the response felt instantaneous, while the handling was quite stable and felt degenerate while maneuvering around the corner.

Back Passenger Comfort

The Autocomfort Sliding Door feature makes it easier to get in and out, while electric captain seats with ventilated seats in the second row increase comfort and flexibility. The baggage capacity reaches 1,202 liters, providing extensive storage space for various family needs.

The interior is covered in Walnut Brown-colored premium skin with a Carbon Black panel that presents a warm and elegant feel. The design of the seat is ergonomic, providing optimal support for each passenger. Not to forget, the air conditioning system with a PM2.5 filter keeps the air quality in the cabin clean and cool.

Safety Features

To support a sense of security during the trip, Wuling Darion is equipped with complete safety features. Starting from 6 airbags, ISOFIX in the second and third rows, 360° Surround View Camera, ABS, EBD, ESC, EPB, AVH, to Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The frame structure also uses high-power steel to provide maximum protection and maintain stability in various road conditions.
